It's time to do real business. The WEB Version 1.0 was all about getting a presence on the internet. Most companies had no idea what they were doing, but they were told they needed a site that told everyone who they were and what they did. The rush to the Internet was much like the California gold rush of the 1800's. A lot of people went West, but very few actually got rich. What we do know is many companies spent millions getting online, and at the end of the day had very little to show for it. Some who were lucky created interesting and popular sites, but no one knew how to turn all those eyeballs into a sustainable business that made money. That was then.
